2011 Season In Review

The 2011 Season has some new additions to the record books:

2nd hightest Receptions total - Stephen Polsinelli, 8, 2011 vs. CBA

Highest points scored: 9 game record was this season - 230 total points

Guilderland Snow Bowl Game
Varsity team ended their season playing on a field of white snow. After a scoreless first quarter of hard hitting defense from both teams, Nisky found the end zone. Niskayuna 60 GHS 24 -

Ground Game Ends Playoff Run
The Dutchmen jumped to a 12-0 lead in the second quarter on Anthony Stanish's 12-yard touchdown run and quarterback Timothy O'Connor's 26-yard scoring scramble.

Columbia responded with a record-setting ground game performance for the victory .


Dutchmen Playoff Bound
A blocked punt by Jimmy McLaughlin led to a Noah Poskanzer touchdown, and a tackle by Alex Gaines on a botched punt snap in the fourth quarter helped seal Bethlehem's fate as Guilderland won its third straight game and clinched the No. 4 seed from the Empire Division with a 32-20 victory over the Eagles at Shenendehowa's Steuerwald Stadium.

The Dutchmen will play Columbia the  No.1 seed of the  Liberty Division  on Friday Oct. 21st. at Columbia HS.


Four First Half Rushing TDs
Jim McLaughlin and Noah Poskanzer each had a blocked punt and a sack giving the Dutchmen excellent field position.

Road Victory For Dutchmen
The Dutchmen took a 30-0 lead at half time and never looked back. GHS 43 Colonie 6-

Two Point Conversion
CBA with a little over one minute to play completed a two point conversion for the come from behind victory.

Varsity D Forces Turnovers
The Dutchmen defense stepped up forcing Toga to turn the ball over  five times.

Dutchmen Can't Find End Zone
Tim O'Connor threw for a game-high 155 yards
and Brandon Courtney caught three passes for a team-high 55 yards for the Dutchmen. The Plainsmen defense has not allowed a point scored in their first two games of the season.


Late Rally Defeats Dutchmen
 The Dutchmen dominated the game on both sides of the ball for over 3 quarters of play. A fourth quarter rally and a final td by Ballston Spa with 53 seconds hand Guilderland the season opener lose 22-18..
